Hot afternoons (26–32°C) with low humidity. Diurnal flight on clear, dry days.

Among the first flights of the year in Mediterranean Spain. Queens are small and fast. Common in sandy soils and open fields.

This species produces soldiers (majors) with differentiated morphology.

Extremely agile. The formicarium must be very well sealed. They escape through minimal gaps.
